Obituary - Lucille Ione "Lucy" (Lund) Carr

MASON CITY - Lucille I. "Lucy" CARR, 98, formerly of Mason City died Monday (May 8, 2006) at Woodland Heights Healthcare Center, Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday (May 12, 2006) at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE, Mason City, with Rev. Bill POLAND, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M. Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral chapel.

Lucille Ione CARR was born July 19, 1907 at Northwood, the eldest of six children to Knudt E. and Maude A. LUND. She married Stanley D. CARR on September 22, 1946 at Wadena, Minnesota.

Lucy grew up in Northwood. She and Stan operated the Midway Café in Northwood for several years. In 1956 they purchased the Midway Market, a Mason City grocery store located on the corner of 6th ST and North Federal. Retiring in 1982, Lucy later moved to Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota to be near family. Lucy loved people and especially enjoyed waiting on her customers.

She is survived by three nieces, Diane WILLIAMS, Hastings, MN; Linda (Jim) VIGARS, Phoenix, AZ; Sandy (Dick) NIVER, Mason City; three nephews, Mike WOLKEN, Hastings, MN; Lyell (Cindy) LUND, Mason City; David (Nancy) LUND, Nora Springs; and several great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
