MOUNT AYR - Raymond ANDERSON, 88, of Mount Ayr, formerly of Mason City, died Tuesday (Jan. 24, 2006) at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wilson- Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr. Burial is in Rose Hill Cemetery [Mount Ayr].

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.

Mr. ANDERSON lived in Mason City for 36 years, retiring in 1977 as chairman of the math department, overseeing two junior highs and one high school in the Mason City School Systems. He was past president of the North Central District of the Iowa State Education Association.

After retirement, he lived at Sun Valley Lake at Ellston, Iowa, moving into Mount Ayr in December of 2000.

He is survived by his wife, Ramona ANDERSON of Mount Ayr, two children, Suzanne CHRISTENSEN and her husband, John, of Denver, Colo., and Steve ANDERSON and his wife, Nadine, of Aberdeen, S.D.; their grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and his step-father, Raymond GREEN, of Mount Ayr.
