MASON CITY — Mavis E. HENSCHKE, 84, of Mason City died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 13, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hwy 122 West, Mason City, with the Rev. Sid BOHLS of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating.

Mavis Elizabeth HENSCHKE was born on April 7, 1927, in Buffalo Lakes, Minn. She attended and graduated from Mason City High School. For nearly 35 years Mavis was employed at Marshall and Swift Dry Cleaners in Mason City.

Mavis loved all animals and enjoyed when the Humane Society would come to give presentations at Good Shepherd. She was an active participant in nearly every Good Shepherd activity but BINGO was by far her favorite. Mavis was quite social and loved visiting with her friends at Good Shepherd and looked forward to sharing a soda with her friend Jerry each Saturday morning in the lobby at Good Shepherd.

Mavis was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and enjoyed donating her time until her health would no longer allow her to.

She is survived by her good friends Jerry and Marieta WENZEL and all of her many friends from Good Shepherd.

Preceding Mavis in death are her parents.
