MRS. HALSOR, 63, SUCCUMBS
Funeral Rites to Be Saturday Afternoon at Local Funeral Home

Mrs. Josephine Augusta HALSOR, 63, died at a local convalescent home about 7:20 o'clock Wednesday evening, following an illness of four months. She had resided in Mason City for the past 25 years.

Mrs. HALSOR was born Feb. 6, 1878, in Mason City. For a number of years she had resided near Fertile before moving back to Mason City.

Surviving Mrs. HALSOR are her husband, Jacob HALSOR, three daughters, Mrs. Hugh STRAIN, Ventura, Mrs. Manetta HALSOR WATTS, 128 Carolina avenue southeast, and Mrs. Lyle FISCHER, Merservey, and two sons, Melvin and Clarence HALSOR, Mason City.

Three sisters, Mrs. Abe Van HOOSEN, Clear Lake; Mrs. George PRESCOTT, Ventura and Mrs. Ida HOWES, Hanlontown, and two brothers, George ZIRBLE, Clear Lake, and Lewis ZIRBLE, Mason City, and seven grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles ZIRBLE, and two brothers, two sisters, and one son, Willie Lester.

She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran church north of Clear Lake.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Patterson funeral home with the Rev. Russell POPE of the Church of the Open Bible in charge. Burial will be at the Grant Center cemetery nine miles northwest of Clear Lake.

NOTE: Iowa Marriages, 1809-1992 lists Josephine's parents as "Carl and Minnie (HABECK) ZIRBEL"; Jacob's parents as "Abraham and Martha (STEPHENSON) HALSOR." Josephine and Jacob were married in Mason City on December 23, 1903. Jacob A. HALSOR was born 03 Apr 1881, Redburg, Norway, and died 01 Aug 1967, Monrovia, Los Angeles County, California.
