Obituary - Monica (Anderson) Gribben

DENVER, Colo. -- Monica ANDERSON GRIBBEN died Friday (Dec. 6, 1996) at the age of 32.

Monica lived in Denver for the last six years, where she graduated from the University of Colorado with a master's degree in Physical Therapy and was a uniquely gifted therapist at Denver General Hospital.

Monica was an avid lover of the outdoors and enjoyed mountain biking, hiking, rafting, back country skiing and camping.

She loved children and had the knack of finding a child's favorite toy or sharing a special interest. She had an intense curiosity and passion for life.

Monica was born on March 25, 1964, in St. Paul, Minn., and was raised in Worthington, Minn., and Mason City, Iowa.

In high school, she pioneered the women's cross country running program and was editor of the school newspaper.

She married John GRIBBEN on Aug. 29, 1992, in Peaceful Valley, Colo.

In addition to her husband, Monica was loved by her parents, Francine and Don ANDERSON, of St. Paul, Minn.; sisters, Virginia BUYSSE of Chapel Hill, N.C.; Elizabeth CLARK of Worthington, Minn.; and Amy ZORTMAN, St. Paul, Minn.; a brother, Fred Anderson of Sioux City, Iowa; nine nieces and nephews; her parents-in-law, Ralph and June GRIBBEN of Arvada, Colo., and their family; as well as a special friend, Jana WALSH of Osage, Iowa.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 11, 1996, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 700 S. Franklin, Denver, Colo.

Horan McConaty Funeral Home, Denver, Colo., was in charge of arrangements.
