VENTURA -- Lawrence Conroy JONES, 56, of 1310 S. West Fifth St., Ankeny, formerly of the Ventura and Garner areas, died Tuesday (July 21, 1987) at the Veterans Hospital, Iowa City.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, Ankeny. Burial will be in Oralabor Cemetery, Ankeny.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the Ankeny Funeral Home in Ankeny, where a rosary will be said at 7 tonight.

The family requests memorials be made to the Lawrence JONES Memorial Fund.

Mr. JONES was born April 9, 1931, in Ventura, to Hugh and Elizabeth JONES. A former resident of Garner, he had lived in Ankeny the past 23 years. He had been employed at D and P Lumber Co.,Altoona, and had operated the former Henry's Drive-In, Ankeny.

Mr. Jones served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church and a former member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Garner.

Survivors include four sons, Michael, Jeffrey and Matthew, all of Ankeny, and David of Dayton, Iowa; two grandchildren; three sisters, Maynell IMMEL, Phoenix, Ariz.; Anna Mae FRY, Detroit, Mich.; and Louise BLY, Sioux Falls, S.D.; and four brothers, Edwin of Mason City; Melvin, Garner; Gary of Vallejo, Calif. and Charles, Forest City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
