March 24, 1909 – August 16, 1990

Mason City, IA – Helen C. Behm, 81, of rural Mason City, died Thursday (August 16, 1990) at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.

Mass of Resurrection will be held 10:30 AM Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams, with the Rev. Paul E. Lippstock officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, IA. Visitation will be from 5 PM to 8 PM Sunday at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. NE, Mason City where a scriptural wake service will be held at 7 PM Sunday. The family requests memorials be given to the Holy Family Catholic Church Organ Fund.

Mrs. Behm was born March 24, 1909, at Broken Arrow, OK to Arthur and Faye (Leaman) Stoeber. Mrs. Behm was raised in Mason City and Attended Mason City schools. She graduated from Mason City High School. She farmed with her husband north of Mason City for many years. She enjoyed gardening and homemaking. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the church circle.

Survivors include two sons, Donald J. Behm, Cypress, CA, and John W. Behm Sr., Mason City; four grandsons, John W. Behm Jr., Des Moines, Timothy L Behm, Christopher L. Behm, and Scott M. Behm all of Mason City; one granddaughter, Deborah Marie McKelvey, Anaheim, CA; three great-granddaughters, Sarah Ann McKelvey, Stacy Marie McKelvey, and Mary Christine Behm.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1981, two sisters and one brother.
