MASON CITY -- Arlene BARRAGY, 85, of Mason City, died Wednesday (June 17, 1992) at Good Shepherd Care Center.

A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302 5th St. S.E., with the Rev. Carl A. RIES officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. wich a Scriptural wake at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arlene BARRAGY was born July 28, 1906, in Dougherty to Michael and Alice (DOUGHERTY) McDONOUGH. She married James T. BARRAGY on June 30, 1936, at Sacred Heart Church, Rockwell.

She grew up in the Rockwell and Dougherty area and attended at Sacret Heart School, Rockwell. She graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing, Mason City, and worked as a nurse at the St. Joseph's Hospital, Mason City.

She was a member of St. Joesph Catholic Church, St. Theresa Circle and St. Joseph Nursing Alumni.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph BARRAGY and his wife, Mary, of Clear Lake, and Robert BARRAGY and his wife, Linda, San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Margaret OLSON and her husband, Larry, Buffalo, Minn.; 11 grandchildren: Marcia SHELTON, LaVernia, Texas; David BARRAGY, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; Douglas BARRAGY, Germany; Susan FRICK, Corcoran, Minn.; Kevin OLSON, Orange County, Calif.; Deborah OLSON, Monticello, Minn.; and Michael, Thomas, Daniel, Scott and Jason BARRAGY, all of Clear Lake; three step-grandchildren, Jim and Stacy SHERRIN, San Antonio, Texas and Cynthia SHEERIN-THOMAS, Cheyenne, Wyo.; one brother, Robet McDONOUGH and his wife, Florence, Clear Lake; and one sister, Catherine McDONOUGH, Mason City; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1984 and one sister.
