Services Today For Scott Rule, 80

Funeral services for Scott RULE, 80, will be held at Ward's Funeral Home Friday at 2:30. The Rev. Wilbur EGELAND, pastor of the Methodist Church, Swaledale, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the family lot in Clear Lake cemetery.

Mr. RULE died suddenly Wednesday morning [August 4, 1954] at the home of his son, Earl, 710 N. 9th street, with whom he made his home.

Mr. RULE was born Aug. 5, 1874, at Boone, the son of Nimrod and Nancy RULE. He grew up in the vicinity and was married to Miss Nellie Louise BARRETT Aug. 29, 1893. Prior to moving to Clear Lake in 1914 they farmed near Boone and in Canada.

Mr. RULE is survived by seven children: Rex RULE, Mrs. Albert (Faye) CHRISTENSON and Mrs. George (Merle) EDMUNDSON, Clear Lake; Mrs. Fred (Clarice) YATES, Indianapolis, Ind.; Virgil RULE, Bellevue; Earl RULE, at home, and Marvin RULE, Clear Lake; a sister, Mrs. Margaret HURLEY, Visalia, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife who died January 6, 1954; nine brothers and sisters; and four grandsons, Eugene CHRISTENSON, Dale EDMUNDSON and Vernon and Clyde YATES.
