MRS. PETER PEDELTY DEAD.

The Aged Lady Dies on Wednesday Afternoon,
Presumably from an Attack of Grip.

Another mother in Israel has passed away. The Silent Reaper Death has been very busy for the past fortnight, gathering in his golden harvest, operating largely among the fully ripened, and a number of the old residents have fallen before his keen Cutting scythe.

Mrs. Mary ALDERSON-PEDELTY died at the family residence in this city [Mason City] shortly after 2 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon [February 10 1892].

To speak of a life that has been so beautiful and useful, comes to us as a pleasant duty. The deceased was born in Yorkshire, England, Aug. 5th, 1814. She was married in England in 1847, and in 1855 with her husband and three children came to America. In 1883 they located in Mason City and have since been respected residents.

Sixteen years ago Mr. PEDELTY united with the Primitive Methodist church at her home in Shullsburg, Wis., and upon locating in this city placed her letter with the Congregational Ch'ch. Her sphere was in her home. Here her life was quiet but it was devoted to every interest in making the surroundings pleasant for her husband and children. Eleven of the latter were born into the home, five of them long ago passing over the river and are now awaiting her arrival on the eternal shores.

The remaining six children, Simon, John, Joseph, Mrs. Agnes WILLIAMS, Mrs. Lizzie BRYSON and Mrs. Dina COOK, are all residents of Cerro Gordo Co. Rev. ALDERSON, of Rockwell, is a brother of the deceased.

Mrs. PEDELTY had been an invalid for the past three years, and although she was at times racked with pain she trusted with implicit confidence in divine help, never complained, and had the earthly tabernacle in readiness for the coming. On Wednesday of last week she was taken very ill with la grippe and soon passed into unsciousness (sic). Dr. ENGLOFF was called to attend but she was beyond the power of human assistance. With a constitution shattered by along (sic) illness she rapidly grew worse until at the hour above mentioned, peacefully and quietly, as if in a beautiful dream, she was borne away to her immortal home.

The funeral services were held at the residence at 10 o'clock. . .rest of article missing. . . .
