Obituary - Maynard LeRoy Collins

MASON CITY -- Funeral services for Maynard L. COLLINS, 75, of 302 S. Indiana, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. James Lutheran Church, 1148 4th SE. He died Monday (Jan. 27, 1968) at home.

The Rev. David ANDERSON will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be after 1:30 p.m. today until 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 209 2nd NE, Mason City.

The family requests memorial be made to Maynard L. COLLINS Memorial Fund.

Born Jan 24, 1911 in Clencoe, Okla., he was the son of Clyde and Daisy (INGHAM) COLLINS. Mr. COLLINS spent his early years in Whitten and graduated from Swaledale High School in 1928. He married Mary Ellen JONES on Dec. 21, 1933 at Popejoy. They farmed in the Swaledale and Chapin areas until 1954 and then moved to Mason City in 1959.

He drove a Star Route mail truck to Waterloo for 20 years and also did contracting work. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen, Mason City; two sons, Richard and Raymond, both of Mason City; one sister, Mrs. Howard (Carlotte) PHILPOT, Sumner; and one brother, Harry W., Clear Lake.
