September 3, 1938PLAN RITES FOR MRS. D. W. HURN
Aged Resident to Be Buried at Edgerton, Wis.CLEAR LAKE -- Funeral services for Mrs. D. W. HURN, 79, who died early Saturday morning at her home, 600 North Fourth street, following an illness of serveral weeks, will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The place was to be announced following the arrival of relatives Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Roy H. COX, pastor of the Methodist church, will conduct the rites. Ward's funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. HURN has been attended for several weeks by Mrs. Margaret OLSON, Long Beach, Cal.
Following the services the body will be taken to Edgerton, Wis., where services will be held Monday and where burial will take place.
Harriet J. SMITH was born June 7, 1859, at Milton, Wis., the daugher of David and Sarah Jane SMITH. She came to Clear Lake many years ago and for a time lived in Spokane, Wiash., where her husband, Judge David W. HURN, died 10 years ago.
Mrs. HURN is survived by a brother, George SMITH, Milton, Wisc.; a niece, Mrs. Agnes BATCHELDER, Cedar Rapids; a nephew, Harry SMITH, and a niece, Mrs. L. A. BABCOCK, Milton, Wis., and by two step-daughters, Miss Reba HURN, Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. C. R. SMITH, Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. SMITH were expected to arrive Saturday afternoon to attend the funeral.
