G. E. Curphy Called to Montour by Death of Walter Curphy, 86

CLEAR LAKE - Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Curphy left Saturday for Montour where they were called by the sudden death of Mr. Curphy's father, Walter Curphy, 86, which occurred Friday morning. They expect to attend the funeral which will probably be held Monday at Montour. Mr. Curphy attained considerable prominence over the state about two months ago when he was featured in "Iowa Oddities" as the man who had carried a hoe as a cane for the past 20 years. His picture appeared in several newspapers in connection with this record.
