G. Cottrell service set for Tuesday

Funeral services for George Floyd COTTRELL, 68, retired farmer who died suddenly Friday [December 2, 1960] of a heart attack while on a fishing trip at Fergus Falls, Minn., were held Monday afternoon at the Armstrong Community Church, Maple Plain, Minn.

Mr. COTTRELL formerly lived in Mason City, but for many years had lived at Maple Plain.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Clear Lake Cemetery. The Rev. George ADKINS, pastor of the First Christian Church, Clear Lake, will are his wife, Marian, Maple Plain, Minn.; a son, Weston F. COTTRELL, Mason City; five daughters, Mrs. Chester (Cleo) BRUCE, Liberty, Mo.; Mrs. Merrill (Frances) HOVE, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. George (Dixie) REINSMOEN, Joice; Mrs. Albert (Elaine) WALLSKOG, Fredericksburg, and Mrs. Gail (Lenys) BARTELL, Mason City; two sisters, Mrs. Virgil CHEHOCK, Mason City, and Mrs. Walter ANDERSON, Minneapolis, and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mable (URE) COTTRELL, in 1932, and by one grandchild, Chester BRUCE.

Mr. COTTRELL formerly farmed at Fertile and lived in Mason City from 1929 to 1934 before moving to Minnesota.

NOTE: George was born August 21, 1892, on a farme near Fertile, IA, the son of Delbert Andrew & Anna Elila (BECKMAN) COTTRELL. Mabel Inez (URE) COTTRELL was born May 9, 1896, Hanlontown IA, and died April 16, 1931, Mason City, Iowa, aged 34 years. She was interred at Clear Lake Cemetery.
