H. D. BEMISS, 90, DIES AT HOME
Services for Pioneer Resident
to Be Held Wednesday Afternoon

Harmonus (sic) D. BEMISS, 90, a resident of Mason City for the past 70 years, died at his home, 221 Third street northwest, at 5:15 o'clock Tuesday morning from infirmities of age.

Mr. BEMISS, a carpenter here for many years, was born at Belvidere, Ill., Nov. 1, 1849. He came to Mason City in 1870 and had been a member of the First Methodist church for 60 years.

Surviving Mr. BEMISS are one daughter, Mrs. Jennie FRITAG, 535 Sixth Place southeast, and two sons, Willis BEMISS, 725 Eleventh street northeast, and William BEMISS, at home, and eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mr. BEMISS was preceded in death by his wife [Emma Frances (PARKER) BEMISS (1854-1938)] last year.

Funeral services will be held at Memorial chapel of the Major funeral home at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, with the Rev. C. E. FLYNN, pastor of the First Methodist church, in charge of services. Burial will be at Elmwood cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Major funeral home until the time of services.
