ARCHIE BELL, 52, DIES IN HOSPITAL
Suffers Severe Attack of Heart Disease
Funeral Wednesday

Archie G. BELL, 203 First street southeast, resident of Mason City for 40 years, died at a local hospital at midnight Sunday night [August 18, 1929], following an attack of heart disease.

Mr. BELL had been suffering with periodical attacks of heart disease for the past eight years and last year was materially benefited by two month's treatment at Rochester, Minn. He was taken to a local hospital Saturday when he became seriously ill. Sunday morning he suffered another attack from which he failed to rally.

The funeral services will be held at the home Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with burial in Elmwood cemetery. Mrs. BELL requests that no flowers be sent.

Mr. BELL was born in Aurelia, [Ontario] Canada, in 1877. When he was 3-years-old his father [Duncan BELL] died. Five years later his mother [Elizabeth (GRAHAM) BELL] succumbed. In 1889 Mr. BELL, with two older sisters, came to Mason City.

For a number of years Mr. BELL operated the BELL drug store here. He also was associated with the DUTRO Manufacturing company and other interests.

He was married to Miss Irene MILLER, who with his twin sister, Mrs. J. E. CHAPMAN of Colfax, survive him. Mrs. CHAPMAN being the only surviving member of a family of 13 children. Mrs. CHAPMAN and her son, Charles, have arrived to be here for the funeral.
