Obituary - Norman Raine Allison

Norman Raine ALLISON, 80, of Clear Lake, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 1994, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday), Aug. 24, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Clear Lake. Msgr. Joseph J. SIEPICKA and Msgr. Roger O'BRIEN, of Dubuque, will officiate. Following the services he will be cremated and inurnment will take place in Clear Lake Cemetery at a later date.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Norman ALLISON Memorial Fund.

Norman ALLISON was born June 14, 1914, in Hampton, Iowa, the son of George ALLISON and Anne (nee) RAINE ALLISON. He graduated from Geneva High School in 1932 and from Hamilton Business College in Mason City.

On Aug. 22, 1937, he married Harriet SHERIDAN at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Clear Lake. The couple enjoyed spending their winters in Weslaco, Texas.

He was employed by Wagoner Motor Co. in Mason City, later known as Pritchard Motor Co. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He returned to Mason City after the service and was co-owner and business manager of Pritchard Motor Co. for 30 years. He became a partner with Bud DAVENPORT and purchased Max BOYD Machine Co. He operated the business for 10 years, retiring in 1979.

Norman was a member of St. Patricks' Catholic Church, a 50-year member of the American Legion Post in Clear Lake, Kiwanis and Elks, a past president of Mason City Junior Chamber of Commerce and past vice president for the Iowa Junior Chamber of Commerce. During his service with the Jaycees, he was elected one of the four Iowa vice presidents at the Jaycee State Convention. He had been state awards chairman and was active in the JCC local and state affairs for a number of years.

He is survived by his wife, Harriet ALLISON, Clear Lake; three sons, Anthony Norman ALLISON and his wife, Mickey, Mason City; Patrick William ALLISON and his wife, Kathleen of Grimes, Iowa; and Gregory George ALLISON and his wife, Kaye, Fairfax, Va.; a brother, George Russell ALLISON and his wife, Cheryle, Hampton, Iowa; 12 grandchildren, Mike ALLISON, Sean ALLISON, Mary ALLISON, Patrick ALLISON, Sara ALLISON, Kimberly KERN and her husband, Craig, Zachary ALLISON, Lucas ALLISON, Marcus ALLISON, Rebekah ALLISON, Mattie ALLISON, and Elizabeth ALLISON, one great-grandchild, Gabriel KERN.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Mike ALLISON, Bill BURKE, Bud DAVENPORT, Daryl AKERS, M. A. AMESON, Keith COLLINS and Ken McCORMICK.
