Obituary - Bruce W. Christie
January 30, 1957 - August 18, 2010

Bruce W. CHRISTIE, 53, of Mason City died Wednesday [August 18, 2010] in Rockwell, IA.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday [August 23, 2010] at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. N.E., Mason City with the Rev. Dennis GANS officiating. Inurnment will be held in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minn. at a later date.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home.

Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be sent to Jeff CHRISTIE, 326 14th St. N.W., Mason City, in Bruce's memory.

Bruce William Christie was born on January 30, 1957 in Chicago, the son of Robert and Dorothy (FLATLEY) CHRISTIE. Following his graduation from Maryvale High School in Phoenix, Bruce enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he faithfully and honorably served his country until his honorable discharge.

Some of Bruce's favorite hobbies included scale modeling, Mopar muscle cars, and listening to his vast collection of music. He also enjoyed watching military programs, both movies and television shows. But his greatest love was spending time with his children and his dog, Elmo.

Bruce was very proud of his time spent in the Marine Corps and loved being a Marine.

He is survived by his four children, Amanda CHRISTIE, Savage Minn., Jeff CHRISTIE, Mason City, Joe CHRISTIE, Mason City, and Tommy WELLS, Jr., Mason City; and their mother, Brenda WELLS, Mason City; his mother, and a brother, both of Arizona; as well as other relatives and many friends, especially Phil and Kenny.

He is preceded in death by his step-father, Stan; grandchildren, Tristan, Izabella, and Tyler; father-in-law, John T.; brother-in-law, John B.; and his grandmother, "Nana."

Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapels was in charge of arrangements.
