Obituary - Peggy Sue (Kruggel) Kruempel
CHATFIELD MN -- Peggy sue KRUEMPEL died Monday October 5,2009 at her home in Chatfield. She was 82. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Chatfield Lutheran Church with the Rev. David A. BECKSTROM officiating. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Township Cemetery in rural Mason City, Iowa. Visitation will be tp.m. to 7p.m. Wednesday at Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield, and one hour before the service Thursday at the church.
Born Peggy Sue KRUGGEL on November 17, 1926,in Swaledale, Iowa, she was the daughter of Louis and Edna (ENGLAND) KRUGGEL. She was a 1944 graduate of Swaledale High School and attended Iowa State Teachers College. On June 27, 1948, she married Robert William KRUEMPEL in Mason City. They moved to Chatfield in 1954. For three years Peggy taught in Artlington, Iowa. In Chatfield she was a homemaker and longtime substitute teacher. Her husband owned and operated Bock Feed and Coal in Chatfield. He then became a postal carrier in 1964, retiring in 1984. He died December 19, 1985.
Peggy was a member of Chatfield Lutheran Church and the Chatfield American Legion Auxilliary. She enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking and traveling.
She is survived by one son, Brett of Minneapolis; two daughters, Kari KRUEMPEL (Allen PETERSON) of Eagan, Minnesota, and Sue (Daniel) KING of Ankeny,Iowa; and four grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Memorials are requested to the Chatfield Lutheran Church.
