CLEAR LAKE — Bula Mae Becker, 86, of Clear Lake, died Monday (Oct. 12, 1998) at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. at the Masonic Cemetery, Dallas Center.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake.

Memorials may be given to the Hospice of North Iowa.

Bula was born on Aug. 27, 1912 in Perry, the daughter of Elmer Martin and Mary Louise (Young) Brelsford. She attended Boone County schools.

Bula married Matthew John Hill in 1933, to which four children were born. They lived in Perry. On May 29, 1956, she married Marlow Becker. They moved to Clear Lake in the late 1960’s where she had lived ever since.

Bula loved crocheting, traveling, metal detecting and fishing.

Bula is survived by her son, Don Hill and his wife, Sandy, of Boone; two daughters, Velma Brown and her husband, Dean, of Leavenworth, Wash., and Betty Erwin, of Everett, Wash.; two stepdaughters, Sandy Heard and her husband, Rollie, of Rockford; and Elaine Smith and her husband, Keith, of Mannford, Okla.; one daughter-in-law, Erma Hill, of Everett, Wash.; one stepdaughter-in-law, Sophie Becker, of Eagle River, Wis.; two sisters, Betty Heffern and her husband, Cletus, of Mason City; and Katherine Fisher and her husband, Claude, of Mountain View, Mo.; three brothers, Marion Brelsford, of Perry; Lloyd Brelsford and his wife, Lila, of Jefferson; Delbert Brelsford and his wife, Fern, of Perry; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Brelsford and Goldie Breslford, of Perry; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; and 14 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Bula was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marlowe in 1993; a son, Robert in 1988; two brothers, Kenneth and Harold Brelsford; one stepson, Dean Becker; and one sister-in-law, Erna Brelsford.
