MASON CITY — Lisa Katherine Wedeking, 17, of 1222 S. Carolina Ave. died Wednesday morning (October 14, 1998) following a motor vehicle accident.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 1998, at the First United Methodist Church, 119 South Georgia Ave., Mason City, with the Rev. Will Hunsaker, of the First Church of the Open Bible, Clear Lake, officiating. Private cremation services will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., today with a special time for classmates and friends from 3 to 5 p.m. at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 2nd St. S.E., Mason City.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Lisa Katherine Wedeking Memorial Fund.

Lisa was born on December 31, 1980, the daughter of Gary and Barb (Liska) Wedeking in Fort Dodge. She attended Mason City High School and worked as a hostess at Bonanza Family restaurant and most recently as a sales clerk for Winslow’s Hallmark Card Shop.

Lisa was an avid music lover, spending time doing pencil drawings, figure skating, playing the violin and excelled at skateboarding.

Her magnetic and outgoing personality made it easy for her to make lasting friendships with the people she grew to love.

Those thankful for having shared in Lisa’s life include her parents Gary Wedeking and Barb Wedeking, both of Mason City; her maternal grandmother, Bonnie Liska, of Moorland, paternal grandparents, Clarence and Phyllis Wedeking, of Clarksville, one sister, Kelley Wedeking; and one brother, Brett and his wife, Natalie Wedeking, all of Mason City.

Lisa was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Clarence Liska.
