"Mrs. Inga Goodling died in Waterloo; Clear Lake--Mrs. Inga Goodling, 86, a longtime resident of Ventura, died Sunday in a Waterloo nursing home, following an illness.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Ward-Van Slyke Funeral Home with the Rev. Byron Surface, pastor of the Ventura United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Ventura Cemetery. Vivistation is to be after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Ingaborg Goodling was born Aug. 24, 1885 in Monona County, the daughter of H. Peter and Henrietta Nelson. She was married to Albert Goodling April 25, 1906, at Ventura. They farmed north of Ventura until 1940 when they moved to Nora Springs. Mr. Goodling died in 1949.
Following his death, she lived in Carlisle until 1965, when she went to Waterloo to be with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Goodling.
Mrs. Goodling is survived by three sons, Orville, Des Moines; Fordyce, Mason City; Shirley, Waterloo; two daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Ardath) Norem, Des Moines; Mrs. James (Frances) Pearson, Ventura; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, H. Chris Nelson, Long Beach, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Serene Howe, Santa Cruz, Calif."
