Lea Rae I. Meeker Reynolds

MASON CITY - Lea Rae I. Meeker Reynolds, 68 died on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006 in Strawberry Point, Iowa.
Funeral services were held previously at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapels, 136 Third St. N.E. in Mason City.

Lea Rae I. Meeker was born to Melvin C. and Una (Jeffries) Meeker on June 27, 1937, in Independence.

After Lea Rae's father, Melvin died, Lea Rae and her mother lived with her great-grandmother Sarah Gast, of Nora Springs.

Lea Rae was raised in Nora Springs and attended schools there. She was baptized at the Christian Church in Nora Springs. Lea Rae received a special white Bible with her name engraved on it for attending Sunday School for five years without any absences.

After Lea Rae was diagnosed with cancer, she was cared for by her mother, Una Meeker. Lea Rae was surrounded by her family the day she died.

Lea Rae is survived by her mother, Una Meeker,of Mason City; son,Francis "Karl" (Dorthy) Porter of Dundee; daughter, Robin ( Dennis) Estel, of Cedar Falls; uncle, Kirk (Judith) Jeffries, of Waterloo; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several special cousins: Corliss Percy, Roxann Jeffries, Nancy Jeffries, Judy Jeffries, Howard Jeffries, Bobby Sheckler, Dick Sheckler, and Jim Sheckler.

Lea Rae was preceded in death by her father Melvin Meeker.
