Norma J. Kirchgatter

MASON CITY — Norma Jean (Johnson) Kirchgatter, 45, of 1114 16th St. N.E., Mason City, died Friday (Aug. 5, 2005) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Thomas Healey officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and then one hour before the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to the Norma Jean Kirchgatter Memorial Fund.

Norma was born in Iowa City, daughter of Norman L. and Sandra J. (Rasmuson) Johnson. She was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Clear Lake.

She attended school in Clear Lake. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad.

Norma married Tom Kirchgatter on May 27, 1994, in Mason City.

Norma has been battling cancer for the last ten years and was a fighter right up until the end. Norma was always smiling and had a positive attitude. Norma enjoyed cooking, flowers and her cat.

Norma is survived by a husband, Tom Kirchgatter, Mason City, and two children: a daughter, Mindy, (Jason) Floyd, Mary Esther, Fla., and a son, Lucas Kirchgatter, Mason City; a brother, Allen Norman Johnson; and a sister, Sheral (Dennis) Abbott; a nephew, Zachary Abbott, and a niece, Alicia Abbott, all of Clear Lake, along with aunts and uncles.

Norma was proceeded in death by her parents; and a son, Luther.
