Whitmore
dies at 55

Harold H. Whitmore, 55, Route 2, retired employee of Jacob E. Decker & Sons packing plant, died Monday morning in a Mason City hospital. He had lived in the community 15 years.

Mr. Whitmore was born June 30, 1909, in Story County near Colo, son of Ben and Fannye (Stone) Whitmore. He was married to Alcia Shupe, Ma7 19, 1930, at Osage.

Surviving are his wife, Alcia; a daughter, Mrs. David (Donna Mae) Morris, Spring Lake, N.C.; three grandchildren; three brothers, Orie and Byron Whitmore, Marshalltown, and Harland, Los Angeles, and a sister Mrs. Stanley (Lois) Davis, St. Mary's, Iowa.

Mr. Whitmore was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U. S. Army in the European Theater. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Visitation has been scheduled at the Patterson-James Chapel from 7 p.m. Tuesday until the time of services.
