W. Bentley dies at 80.
Rites Set

CLEAR LAKE-Wesley Bentley, 90, died Wednesday evening at his home, 1312 2nd Ave. N.E., following a lengthly illness.

Funeral Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Ward Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Ellingson of Zion Lutheran Church officiating.

Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.
Graveside Military rites will be conducted by Clear Lake veterans organizations.
Wesley Bentley was born March 20, 1884, at Lone Prarie, Minn., a son of Charles and Harriet (Hill) Bentley.
He came to Worth County when 12 years old and later ranched in North Dakota and Wyoming.
In 1908 he returned to Worth County and farmed util he entered the U. S. Army and served in France in World War I.

Following his discharge he returned to Cerro Cordo County and farmed for the William Paschen family and later for Gertrude Paschen Walzer for 35 years. They retired and moved to Clear Lake in 1950.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ellis (Ethel) Wharam, Clear Lake. He was a life member of American Legion, Stafford Post 222, and Saratoga Post of VFW. He was also a member of World War I Veterans, Barracks 3190, Disabled American Veterans and Retired Farmers Assn.

Pallbearers will be selected from veterans' organizations.

He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
