John W. Tubbesing rites Monday at Wayside Chapel

John W. Tubbesing, 92, president of the Mason City Millwork Co., Inc., died Friday afternoon in a Mason City hospital, following a long illness.

He had lived in Mason City 36 years, coming here in 1829 from La Crosse, Wis., to join his brother, Fred in the operation of the Mason City Millwork Co.

He served as president of the company until his death, although he had been inactive in the business since 1959.
He made his home at 1209 3rd SW.

Mr. Tubbesing was born Sept. 3, 1872, in Goodhue County, Minn., son of Fred and Anna (Kuch) Tubbesing.
He lived in Red Wing, Minn., until 1906, when he moved to La Crosse, Wis.

He was married to Clara Sorgel, Aug. 22, 1901, at La Crosse.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Carl O. (Harriet T.) Klath, Mason City; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a brother, Raymond Tubbesing, and a sister Grace Thiseth, both of Red Wing, Minn.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, Fred and August, and two sisters, Clara Mahle and Anna Meyer.

Mr. Tubbesing was a member of the First Methodist Church, the Kiwanis Club and Benevolence Lodge 145,
A.F. & A.M.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m., Monday at the Wayside Chapel of the First Methodist Church. Dr. George Truman Carl, pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Major-Erickson Funeral Home from 2 p.m. Sunday until noon Monday.
