W. Shunkwiler Rites Saturday

Funeral services for Wayne L. Shunkwiler, 23, who died at a hospital Wednesday following an illness, will be held at the McAuley and Son Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. L.L. Roggow, pastor of the Assembly of God church, officiating.

He was the son of Floyd W. and Verna DeMaris Shunkwiler, 204 15th N.E. and was born Feb. 12, 1928 at Chapin. He moved to Mason City that same year and had resided here throughout his life, except for 5 years from 1942-47 when he lived at Park Rapids, Minn.

Surviving are his parents, 4 brothers, Keith of Humboldt, Lyle, gunner’s mate S1/c, U.S. Navy, San Pedro, Cal., and Donald and Cecil, Mason City; and aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frederick and Floyd W. Jr.

Burial will be at Elmwood cemetery. The McAuley and Son funeral home is in charge.
