Iva W. Flynn was born April 23, 1927, in Wesley, to Strother and Sarah (Hill) Wise and was one of 10 children. Upon graduation from Rock Falls High School in 1945, Iva moved to Mason City and began her 45-year career with Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. Iva retired from the company in 1990.

She married Harry Wayne Flynn in 1948. To this union, daughter Wanda Mae Flynn was born.

Iva was a devoted member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where she was actively involved in teaching Sunday school, a member M.Y.F. and served on various committees. She took pride in her 11 years as the church treasurer.

Iva participated in many community and civic activities, and spent her last years volunteering at the Mason City Chamber of Commerce office.

She truly loved life, worked hard and treasured her relationship with the Lord, her family and her friends.

Iva is survived by her daughter, Wanda Morris and her husband, Johnny, of Lindale, Texas. She will also be sadly missed by her two grandsons, Jason Wiggins and his wife, Colleen, of Scranton, PA., and John “Coleman” Wiggins of Tyler, Texas; two step-grandchildren, Kyle Morris and Elizabeth Morris, both of Lindale, Texas; two sisters, Bonnie Lease of Iowa Falls and Sarah Price of Fort Myers, Fla., one brother, Strother E. Wise of Las Vegas, Nev., and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Iva was eagerly awaiting the birth of her first great-grandchild, due to arrive in approximately three weeks to Jason and Colleen Wiggins.

Iva was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and one brother.
