Louis J. Hanson
MASON CITY – Louis J. Hanson, 73, of 34 Winnebago Court, died Friday (April 27, 1984) at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Mason City, with the Rev. Thomas McAndrew of the Mason City Team Ministry officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation is after 2 this afternoon at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, Mason City, where a parish wake service will be held at 7 tonight.

Mr. Hanson was born July 11, 1910, in Mason City to Hans and Barbara (Fitzel) Hanson, and attended Freeman Country School in rural Mason City. He married Dorothy M. Finch in January 1979 in Manly.

He retired from Jacob E. Decker and Sons after 40 years, and was a member of the AFL-CIO Union. He also did carpentry work in the area for many years. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy M. Hanson, Mason City; his mother, Mrs. Barbara Hanson, Mason City; two daughters, Margaret Patrick and Mary Tevis, and a stepdaughter, Nancy McGowan, all of mason City; two stepsons, Raymond Blanchard, Manly; and Dennis Blanchard, Mason City; three sisters, Emma Hanson, Mason City; Ethel Luckason, Kensett, and Mary Bistline, Plymouth; two brothers, Harry and Ray Hanson, both of Mason City; four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
