MASON CITY – Funeral services for George Beisel, 80, and employee of the American Crystal Sugar Co. here for over 50 years, will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, Mason City. He died Sunday (Oct. 10, 1982) at a Mason City hospital.

Mr. Beisel of 1105 N. Tyler was born in 1902 in Durham, Kan., the son of George Beisel Sr. and Katie (Berg) Beisel. He attended school in Kansas and lived in Milwaukee, Wis., for two years before moving to Mason City in 1918. Her married Marie Rich in 1927. After her death he married Olga Marquardt in 1959 in Mason City.

Mr. Beisel worked as an assistant warehouse foreman at the American Crystal Sugar Co. retiring in May 1968. He also worked part time as a carpenter and was a former member of the Moose Lodge.

The Rev. Charles E. Rogers of Grace Baptist Church, Mason City, will officiate at the service and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be after noon Wednesday at the funeral chapel.

Survivors include his wife, Olga, two sisters, Mrs. Barney (Leah) Clark and Mrs. Eilef (Susie) Erickson, both of Mason City, and one brother, Alex Beisel, Engadine, Mich.
