Neva A. Beisel

MASON CITY – Neva A. Beisel, 96, of 704 N. Jackson Ave., died Tuesday (Jan. 25, 2000) at the Heritage Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Kenneth Hatland officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hogan Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. Mason City.

Neva was born on March 25, 1905 on a farm near Cylinder, Iowa, the daughter of Vincent and Martha (Gohr) Higley. She attended country school and was confirmed in the German Lutheran Church in Fairville, Iowa. She moved to Mason City with her parents in 1917 and attended city school.

Neva was united in marriage to Reinhard Beisel in July of 1921 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mason City.

She was a lifelong homemaker and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Royal Neighbors of America.

Neva is survived by two sons, Everett Beisel, of Mason City and Harold Beisel, of Magnolia, Texas; one daughter, Betty Bratrud, of Kensett; five grandchildren, Gloria Warren and her husband, John, of Shafter, Calif., Jean Oltjenbrun and her husband, Larry, of Reed Springs, Mo., Jane Johanns and her husband, Everett, of Mason City, Jeff Beisel and his wife, Robin, of Tomball, Texas and Jeanette Parks, of Magnolia, Texas; 10 great-grandchildren, Sam Katter and his wife, Nikki, of Garner, Rhonda Falbab and her husband, Chris, of St. Louis, Mo., Bryan Oltjenbrun and his wife, Lisa, of White Bear Township, Minn., Jody Schulz and her husband, Jason, of Mason City, Chris Bentzin and his special friend, Nikki Gahsen, of Mason City, Andy Bratrud of Milford, Neb., Shawn and Shawna Parks, of Magnolia, Texas and Michelle and Tara Beisel, of Tomball, Texas; and three great-great-grandchildren, Taylor Jean Parks, Dylan Oltjenbrun and Rayne Benson.

Neva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, three brothers; two grandsons, Mark and Howard Beisel; one great-granddaughter, Judy Bratrud; one grand-son-in-law, Michael Benson; one son-in-law, Orrin Bratrud; and two daughters-in-law, Eleanor and Alvena Beisel.
