Barney F. Clark

MASON CITY – Barney F. Clark, 80, of 304 Third St. N.E. died Friday, (Feb. 9, 1990) at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Mason City, of natural causes.

Funeral services will be at 1:30p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Randy Kasch officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 3p.m. today until noon Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 209 Second St. N.E. Memorials may be given to the Barney F. Clark Memorial Fund.

He was born Feb 23, 1909 at Rowan, a son of Joseph and Anna (Borel) Clark. He attended schools in the Clarion area, then in Mason City. He worked for Ellsworth Stock Farm of Dows. He then worked for Lyons Cleaners and was self-employed in the carpet cleaning business. For 15 years he worked for the Mason City Community Schools, retiring in 1972. He married Leah Beisel on Dec 12, 1931 in Mason City. Mrs. Clark died in 1985. Mr. Clark was an avid gardener.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the senior citizens center.

Survivors include two sons, Bernard and Larry, both of Mason City; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Fern Clark, Rochester, Minn., and Elizabeth Tilton, Albuquerque, N.M.; and one brother, Joseph Clark, Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother.
