Obituary
Florence O'Connor, who died at their home in Mason City on Monday, Dec. 8, 1924, was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, on Feb. 28, 1854, and for many years was a resident of this vicinity, first living on a farm and later in Rockwell where they remained for fifteen years and when he served as marshall for some time.
Mr. O'Connor had not been well for some time and at his advanced age there was little hope for his recovery.
He was united in marriage to Miss Catherine Moran of Rockwell, April 26, 1892, and of this union four chidren are left to mourn his death.
For the past five years the family has resided in Mason City, and there he was laid to rest in St. Joseph's cemetery, following funeral services last Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family church, conducted by Father Hammil.
Besides the wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harold Johnson and Miss Jean, both of Mason City; two sons, Frank L. of Mason City and James of this place; four brothers, James of Dougherty, John of Cartersville, Dennis of Mason City, and Murtaugh of Los Angeles; five sisters, Mrs. M. J. Burke of Rockwell, Mrs. James Casey of Epworth, Mrs. Robert Hall of Farley, Mrs. Ella Breen of Dougherty, and Sister Monica of Fort Dodge.Those persent at the funeral from a distance were Mrs. Hall of Farley and Mrs. Julia O'Connor from Epworth.
