Funeral services for Christopher L. Reed, 9, were held at the United Methodist church May 17 with Dr. Jerrold Swinton officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim Krall, Jim Fonteyne, Rod Albaugh and Pete Franzen. Jim Schneider was vocalist and Patty Niehaus organist.

Christopher died at University hospitals, Iowa City, May 13. He had been ill with cystic fibrosis.

The son of Tom and Rita Phelps Reed, he was born at University Hospitals, Iowa City, March 7, 1979. He was a student in the Tipton elementary school.

It was a little more than a year ago that Christopher, his parents and his brother and sister spent 4 days in Disneyland and Sea World in California. The trip was made possible by the "Kids With a Wish" program for children with disabling diseases.

The trip was also made possible by help from the VFW Auxiliary, the GFWC Tri-Sigmas, the Women of the Moose, the American Red Cross, the Tipton Rotary, Ken Dahl Motors and TTT.

He is survived by his parents, a sister and brother, Elizabeth and Tommy; his grandparents, June Kingsbury and Betty Harden, Tipton and Keith Phelps, Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather.
