Funeral services for John J. Kessler, 86, West Branch, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 23, at St. Bridget's Catholic church at Nolan Settlement, with Monsignor Sebastian Menke officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at Brosh's in Solon from 3 to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 22, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. A memorial fund has been established.

Mr. Kessler was a retired farmer, with property in Cedar and Johnson counties. He was a member of St. Bridget's Catholic church.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Dorothy Linnell and Darlene Klouda, both of Solon; 3 sons, Eugene, West Branch; Clarence, Cedar Rapids and Melvin, Solon; a sister, Bridget Irving, Iowa City; 3 brothers, Joe and Mike, both of Solon and Les, Tipton; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
