Funeral services for Rudolph McNee, 96, Mechanicsville, were held July 7, 1987 at the First Presbyterian church in Mechanicsville, with the Rev. Jaymee Glenn Burns officiating. Mrs. Frances Robinson was the organist and pallbearers were Calvin Robinson, Michael Boots, Dennis Pearson, Harry Driscoll, David Edwards and John Sauer. Honorary pallbearers were Everett Ferguson, Weldon Woods and Dean Bohr. Burial was in the Rose Hill cemetery.

Mr. McNee died July 3 at Mercy hospital in Cedar Rapids following a short illness.

The son of Peter and Lavina Rate McNee, he was born Feb. 26, 1891 at the family home south of Mechanicsville. He married Mina Mae Jackson Sept. 24, 1924 and they lived on the family farm.

Mr. McNee served in the U.S. Army during World War I in England and France. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 309, the Mechanicsville Lions club, the First Presbyterian church of Mechanicsville and the Cedar County Historical Society.

He is survived by a son, Roland, Marion; a daughter, Opal, Mechanicsville and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
