Funeral services for Joseph Barclay, 77, Wilton, were held July 11, 1987 at the Grace United Church of Christ in Wilton with the Rev. Robert Mayo officiating. Deb Mohr was the organist and pallbearers were Dave McClean, John Nolte, Bob Thede, Nevin Kelley, Douglas Barclay and Tracy Meyer. Burial was in the Oakdale cemetery.

Mr. Barclay died July 8 at University hospitals in Iowa City.

The son of Clarence Lloyd and Anna Kelley Barclay, he was born Dec. 16, 1909 in Lime City. He married Irene Duffe Dec. 15, 1932 in Wilton. He was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ and Modern Woodmen. He farmed near Wilton, retiring in 1975.

Mr. Barclay is survived by his wife; a son, Gerald Barclay, Muscatine; a daughter, Mrs. LuVerne (Shirley) Meyer, Wilton; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother.
