Funeral services for Gaylord W. (Fat) Goodale, 79, were held at the Sheets and Son Funeral Home March 31 with the Rev. Dale Marshall officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. Betty Vitense was organist and Wayne Sissel was vocalist. Pallbearers were Kyle, Darroll, Wayne, Clint, Brian and Kirk Sissel. Honorary pallbearers were Max Crawford, Jerry Klauer, Roy Leighty, Wayne Hodgden and Lou Winston.

Mr. Goodale died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, March 28 following a stroke.

The son of Lester and Millie Satizhan Goodale, he was born near Tipton July 25, 1904, attended the rural schools of the area and graduated from Tipton high school in 1921. He was married to Luella Schwitzer Sissel at Anamosa June 27, 1953.

A retired farmer, he spent his life in the Tipton area.

He is survived by his wife, 3 step-sons, Melvin Sissel, North Bend, NE; George Sissel, DeWitt and John Sissel, Anamosa; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother.
