Last rites for William H. Edler, 77, were held at Emmanuel Lutheran church, Davenport, March 21 with the Rev. Pannier officiating. Burial was in Davenport Memorial park. Mr. Edler died at East Moline Garden Plaza March 18.

The son of Fred and Sophia Helmold Edler, he was born Sept. 25, 1906 in Cedar county. Before his death he was employed by the Thompson Tobacco company. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church.

He is survived by his wife, the former Gladys Gray whom he married in 1967; a daughter, Mrs. Chanley (Jean) Lundgren, Minneapolis, MN; 2 stepsons, Frank Gray, Port Hecon, MI and Donald Gray, Phoenix, AZ; 2 grandchildren, Mrs. Ellen Larson and Jeffrey Lundgren, Minneapolis; 6 step-grandchildren and 5 step-greatgrandchildren; 4 sisters, Mrs. Melinda Daude and Wilma Paustian, both of Tipton; Ella Edler and Mrs. James (Pauline) Clark, both of Davenport; 2 brothers, Fred, Durant and Elmer, New Liberty; an aunt, Augusta Bergmann and an uncle, Otto Helmold, both of Clarence and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma Spengler Edler; his second wife, Agnes Siebke Edler and an infant daughter, Donna Faye; 2 sisters and a brother.
