Funeral services for Henry H. Kruse, 81, Davenport, were held Sept. 8 with burial at National cemetery, Rock Island, Ill. Mr. Kruse died at St. Luke's hospital, Davenport, Sept. 5, following a short illness.

Mr. Kruse was born in Cedar county, Sept. 5, 1894, and was married to Lorna Nelson in Springfield, Ill., in 1947.

A veteran of World War I, he was an organizer of the Bennett American Legion and a past commander of the post. He belonged to the Davenport American Legion.

He had been employed for 23 years as a salesman at Quality Buick at Davenport. He later was employed at Schwind Boeker Buick retiring 6 years ago. For the last 3 years he was employed at City Center Motel, Bettendorf.

He was active in the Davenport Democratic central committee in Scott county. He was the former city clerk of Bennett, where he was active in a drive to have a state highway run through the city. He was also active in the Tipton Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Helen Kruse, Bettendorf; Mrs. Loran (Debbie) Steines, Moline, and Mrs. James (Diane) Lundholm, Rock Island, and a granddaughter.
