September 11, 1975 - The Tipton Conservative

Funeral services for Mrs. Cora M. Jordan, 90, were held at Grandview Baptist church, Davenport, Sept. 2, with the Rev. Petterson officiating. Burial was at Memorial park, Davenport.

Pallbearers were her 6 grandsons: R. M. Meyer Jr. and Albert Meyer, Muscatine; Carl Bopp, Charition, Leo Bopp Jr., Cedar Rapids; Marland Jordan, Cedar Rapids.

Mrs. Jordan died at the Wilton Nursing home, Aug. 29, where she had lived for 10 years.

The daughter of Peter L. and Mary Daut Ayres, she was born at Tipton, March 28, 1885, and was educated in the rural Cedar county schools. She also attended the Wilton Business college.

She was married to Emmett F. Jordan, Dec. 22, 1914. The couple farmed in Cedar county, moving to Davenport in 1937. In 1944 they moved to California, where they were in the real estate business for several years.

Her husband preceded her in death Oct. 19, 1957.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Leo (Nola) Bopp, Chariton, 2 sons, Reginald M. Meyer, Muscatine and Kenneth L. Jordan, Tipton; 14 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Rudolph (Lulu) Sebelien, Wilton and Mrs. Paul (Terry) Wacker, Davenport and several nieces and nephews.
