Services will be held for Edward J. Stephens, 84, Mechanicsville, at Dunn's on Grand, Des Moines, today at 1:30. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Gardens, Des Moines.

Mr. Stephens died at a Cedar Rapids hospital, June 22, following a brief illness.

He was born June 5, 1891, near Martinsdale. He was a retired stationary engineer with the Des Moines school district.

Mr. Stephens is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Neil Klinefelter, Mechanicsville.
