Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Neva Ross, 77, were held at the Horner funeral home, Mechanicsville, May 17 with the Rev. Donald Wooge officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Pallbearers were Howard Rhoads, Robert Dauber, Lafe Hudachek, Ralph Yule and Paul and Merle Thimmes. Mrs. Calvin Robinson was organist.

Mrs. Ross died at an Oskaloosa nursing home May 14.

The daughter of John and Ruth Ann Scott Vanderbilt, she was born at Marion Nov. 12, 1897 and received her education in the Marion schools.

She was married to George Ross at Cedar Rapids Dec. 24, 1919.

She is survived by a son, J. Robert Ross, Mechanicsville, 2 daughters, Mrs. Max (Ruth Ann) Fiala, Walker and Mrs. Floyd (Nancy) Phillips, Oskaloosa; a brother, Arthur Vanderbilt, Mechanicsville and 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a granddaughter, 2 sisters and 8 brothers.
