24 April 1975 - The Tipton Conservative

Funeral services for Raymond L. Crock Sr., 72, were held at St. Mary church April 19 with the Revs. George Snell and Donnelly Fitzpatrick officiating. Mrs. Ronald Schott and Jo Ann Crock were organists. Rosemary Crock was vocalist. The rosary was recited at the Sheets and Son funeral home April 18.

Pallbearers were Edward, Herbert, Paul and Robert Crock and Daniel and Edward Shima.

Mr. Crock died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, April 16 following an extended illness.

The son of Jasper H. and Minnie Burkhart Crock, he was born at Harrietsville, Ohio Sept. 6, 1902 and was educated in the rural schools of Cedar county.

He was married to Dorothy A. Brennan May 15, 1927 at Tipton.

A retired farmer, he was a resident of the Tipton area since 1915. He moved to Tipton in 1954.

He was a member of St. Mary church and a past trustee of the church.

He is survived by his wife, 2 daughters, Mrs. Robert (Lorna) Marchik and Mrs. John (Mary Jean) Bents, both of Tipton; 3 sons, Donald, Masonville and Ray Jr. and James, both of Tipton; 28 grandchildren and a sister, Sister Mary Philomena, Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers.
