Calvin C. Wilson, 66, died after an extended illness Monday afternoon at the Veteran's Administration hospital, Knoxville. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Tipton Bible church with the Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. Memorials can be given to the Tipton Bible church.

He is survived by his wife, Fern, Tipton and a brother, Elwood, Cedar Rapids, several nieces and nephews.

Last rites for Calvin C. Wilson, 66, Tipton, were held at the Tipton Bible church, Feb. 13, with the Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Pallbearers were Duane Dotson, John Carroll, Harley Conrad, Kenneth Latimer, Ralph Campbell and Harold Conley.

The boys' quartet sang and Mrs. Richard Smith was organist. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Thumma and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Thumma were in charge of flowers. Military rites were conducted by the Chauncey Butler post of the American Legion at West Branch.

Mr. Wilson died at the Veterans Administration hospital, Knoxville, Feb. 10 following an extensive illness.

The son of Melvin and Annie E. Long Wilson, he was born near Tipton Feb. 29, 1908 and was educated in the Cedar county rural and Springdale schools.

He was married to Fern E. Shirley at Estherville, Dec. 24, 1945. He farmed in the Tipton area and lived in Tipton after retiring from farming. He was a member of the Tipton Bible Church.

A private in the 510th Engineers from 1942 to 1945, he was a member of the American Legion at West Branch and the Disabled American Veterans at Iowa City.

He is survived by his wife, Fern, Tipton, a brother, Elwood, Cedar Rapids and a niece and 2 nephews.

He was preceded in death by 3 sisters.
