Funeral services for Mrs. Vella Mae Hillyer, 78, were held at Wilton Dec. 21, with the Rev. Harold C. Potts officiating. Burial was in Oakdale cemetery at Wilton.

Mrs. Hillyer died at the Americana Nursing home, Davenport, Dec. 19.

The daughter of Abraham and Florence Pool Lincoln, she was born Feb. 11, 1896. She lived in the Bennett, West Liberty, Wilton and Tipton area. She was married to Galen Hillyer at her parents' home in Cedar county, Dec. 22, 1915.

She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Wilton, where she was a member of the women's fellowship.

She is survived by 2 sons, Warren, Tipton and Willard, Wilton; a daughter, Mrs. Elaine Neberall, West Liberty, 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a granddaughter.
