Last rites for Amanda Kruckenberg, 71, Lowden, a teacher in the Lowden schools for 38 years, were held at Trinity Lutheran church, Lowden, Nov. 5 with the Rev. Earl Elowsky officiating. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery.

Miss Kruckenberg died at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, Nov. 3.

The daughter of William and Dorothea Mente Kruckenberg, she was born at Lowden Feb. 7, 1903.

She was a graduate of Lowden high school and received a BA degree in elementary education from the University of Northern Iowa. She taught for a total of 45 years, including the Lutheran parochial schools of Westgate, Victor and Storm Lake before returning to the Lowden elementary school.

She was a member of Trintiy Lutheran church, its Ladies Aid and was a Sunday school teacher for 28 years as well as a vacation Bible school teacher. She was a member of Amvets Auxiliary and served as leader of the Cancer drive in Cedar county. She was active in youth work at Camp Arcadia, Mich., a Lutheran camp.

She is survived by 2 brothers, Ezra, Lowden and Dr. W. G. Kruckenberg, Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Henry and Gerhard.
