Graveside services for Douglas Thompson, 66, were held at the Tipton Masonic cemetery Aug. 31 with the Rev. Mark Fitzlafs officiating. Arrangements were by the Dye Funeral home.

Mr. Thompson died at his home in Tipton Aug. 29.

The son of Charles and Florella Kramer Thompson, he was born at Tipton Dec. 24, 1907 and attended the Tipton schools. He was married to Johanna Reva Brodeen at Iowa City Oct. 26, 1928.

He was a lifetime resident of Tipton and was employed by the maintenance department of the Iowa Highway commission. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, a son, Steven Douglas, Iowa City; 2 daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Kathleen) Meyer, Stanwood and Mrs. Donald (Marcia) Villhauer, Tipton; 6 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
