Funeral services for Everett George La Rue, 77, retired truck driver, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home May 1 with Dr. Glenn Parrott officiating. Merrill Womach was organist. The body was cremated, with burial in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Mr. La Rue died at his home in Tipton April 28.

The son of Guy R. and Malinda (Shaffer) La Rue, he was born at Tipton Dec. 26, 1896. He was educated in the Tipton schools. A lifetime resident of the Tipton area, he operated a truck for many years.

He is survived by his wife, 4 daughters, Dorothy, at home; Mrs. Edwin (Lucile) Jehle, Houston, Texas; Mrs. Gene (Betty) Todd, Atalissa and Mrs. Wayne (Beverly) Alfond, Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter and a son.
